Have you recently been diagnosed with a health condition or food allergy/intolerance that requires diet restrictions? Are you struggling with your new special dietary needs? The Pickled Beet’s chef services provide customized menus and meals plus personal, food-related guidance, while working with your healthcare provider as needed, to help you manage and successfully address your specific food requirements and restrictions.

Gluten-Free Catering and Chef Services

We own and operate Miami’s only dedicated gluten-free personal chef kitchen. Our gluten-free commercial kitchen provides peace of mind to our personal chef and catering clients with celiac disease, gluten intolerances, gluten sensitivities, wheat allergies, autoimmune issues, and more.

A fun fact! Even before we built our new gluten-free kitchen, the vast majority of meals we prepared were naturally gluten-free … because almost all fresh, whole, unprocessed ingredients do not contain gluten.

Food Can Heal or Harm

Even if you aren’t aware of specific food-related health issues and are eating “healthy,” your diet may be making you feel miserable.

Sometimes, without realizing it yet (or traditional doctors downplaying the role food plays), your diet is the problem. Every day, millions of people eat food that they think is healthy and nourishing. In many cases, they are doing more harm than good. Each body is different and has unique nutritional needs, food allergies, and food sensitivities.

Chronic Health Issues On the Rise

Since the mid 90s, the number of Americans suffering from chronic health issues, such as heart disease, asthma, cancer, and diabetes, has nearly doubled. Autoimmune disease is now one of the top 10 leading causes of death among females between childhood to age 65. And nearly 130 million U.S. adults are now living with diabetes or prediabetes.

What’s changed? A primary difference is the food we eat.

You May Not Even Know that You Have a Food Allergy or Intolerance

But, your body does, and it will react. Sometimes the signs are subtle. Maybe you feel bloated, have sinus congestion or abdominal pain; these are most likely indicators of a food sensitivity. If you have a food allergy, the body’s response can be more dramatic and dangerous and, in some cases, result in death.

Over time, if you continue to eat foods your body does not tolerate well, your autoimmune system will be triggered. In its attempt to protect you from foreign invaders, it can turn on you, instead. When it does, you can develop any number of autoimmune diseases, such as type 1 diabetes, celiac, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis, and many more.

You’re Not Just A Number To Us

Maria C. is a single mother of two who is battling the autoimmune disease, Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis. We began cooking for her when she started an elimination diet prescribed by her functional medicine doctor. She cannot have gluten, soy, dairy, grains, most starches, peppers, nightshades, legumes, artificial sweeteners, seasonings derived from seeds, fruits, and more.

Her protocol is so restrictive, we’ve had to create a cookbook-sized database of recipes just for her. In the months since we started cooking for Maria, her health has improved dramatically.

“It’s the best investment I’ve made in a long time.”

“Thanks to Chef Liz and her team I have been able to handle a super restrictive elimination diet prescribed for my autoimmune disease. Not only have I not had to stress about what I could possibly eat, but the food is prepared and ready so I can eat on schedule every 3 hours which is essential. They have been thorough, caring and consistent on top of preparing really great tasting food!! My diet plays a huge role in my overall health and I am seeing the benefits of this thanks to her services. It’s the best investment I’ve made in a long time.” – Maria C.

“Just explain your dietary requirements or needs and they will tailor an amazing menu to fit them.”

“What I love about The Pickled Beet chef team is their versatility. Just explain your dietary requirements or needs and they will tailor an amazing menu to fit them. Every meal will be spectacular, but you’ll find some you like better than others. Just let them know, and you’ll see even more versions and options of those foods. Whether you need to adhere to strict dietary guidelines or just want to eat better, this is the way to go. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny.” – Mike H

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a food allergy and a food sensitivity or intolerance?
A food allergy triggers an autoimmune response that involves multiple organs and can be quite serious. A food sensitivity or intolerance usually produces less dramatic symptoms when the offending food is ingested, but the reaction can become more severe over time with repeated exposure.
What if I’m healthy and I want to stay that way. Can food help?
Yes! The path to good health begins and ends with your gut, quite literally. Your diet has a direct impact on the strength of your immune system and your body’s ability to ward off illness.
My doctor didn’t say anything about modifying my diet. How do I know if I should?
On average, U.S. medical schools only offer 19.6 hours of nutritional education as a part of their curriculum. As with all aspects of your health, it’s up to you to become informed and make educated decisions.
I’ve been diagnosed with a disease, can a modified diet help?
Yes! Dietary changes that are specifically designed to address your health issue will increase your body’s ability to manage and, in some cases, help reverse your condition.
What if I have multiple food allergies?

Whether you need to eat dairy-free, gluten-free, egg-free, soy-free, corn-free, or have a nut allergy – or all of the above – The Pickled Beet can help!
